Fact Checking Policy

How we ensure accuracy across all calculators and content

🎯 Our Commitment to Accuracy

At CurrentTaxYear.com, accuracy is our highest priority. Every calculator, tax rate, slab, formula, and published article goes through a structured fact-checking process before it is made available to users.

Indian tax laws change frequently — especially after each Union Budget. We maintain a dedicated review cycle to ensure all tools and content reflect the current financial year's rules.

📅 All calculators are reviewed and updated at the start of each financial year (April 1) and immediately following major Budget announcements.

🔍 Our Fact-Checking Process

  1. Primary Source Research
All tax rates, slabs, and rules are sourced directly from official government publications — Union Budget documents, Finance Act, CBDT circulars, and Income Tax India website.
  2. Formula Verification
Each calculator formula is independently verified against official guidelines and cross-checked against published examples from CBDT or qualified CA resources.
  3. Internal Review
Content is reviewed by our editorial team before publishing. For tax-specific updates, we cross-reference with at least two independent primary sources.
  4. Post-Budget Update
After every Union Budget, all affected calculators and articles are flagged for review and updated within 7 days of the Budget announcement.
  5. User Feedback Loop
We actively encourage users to report errors via our Contact Us or Policy Correction pages. All reported errors are investigated within 48 hours.

📚 Primary Sources We Use

Income Tax India — incometaxindia.gov.in (CBDT official portal)
Ministry of Finance — finmin.nic.in (Union Budget documents)
GST Council — gstcouncil.gov.in (GST rate notifications)
PFRDA — pfrda.org.in (NPS rules and regulations)
EPFO — epfindia.gov.in (PF and Gratuity Act)
SEBI — sebi.gov.in (Investment and mutual fund regulations)

⚠️ Limitations

Despite our best efforts, we acknowledge the following limitations:

  • Tax laws can change mid-year through CBDT notifications or ordinances; there may be a short delay before our tools reflect these
  • Our calculators are general-purpose tools and cannot account for every individual's unique tax situation
  • Some edge cases (e.g., NRI taxation, specific exemptions under older regimes) may not be fully covered

We always recommend verifying critical figures with a qualified CA before filing returns or making major financial decisions.
